Redirection for Confluence app compatibility
App vendor Appfire has discontinued their app Redirection for Confluence for Server and Data Center.
If you have been using their macro on Confluence Server and are planning to migrate to Data Center, you can now use bitvoodoo’s app “Redirect for Confluence”. Follow the simple steps in this instruction to continue using redirections set with Redirection for Confluence without editing every Confluence page.
Step-by-step guide
After migrating from Confluence Server to Data Center, carry out the following steps:
As an administrator, access “Manage apps”.
Uninstall the app “Redirection Plugin”.
Under “Find new apps”, search and install the “Redirect for Confluence” app by bitvoodoo.
That's it. All pages with a “Redirection” macro in place are now automatically redirected by the app “Redirect for Confluence”.
Set up future redirections using the built-in Redirect to URL Macro in the bitvoodoo app.
Note on difference:
The redirection in the bitvoodoo “Redirect for Confluence” app works server-side and not in the visitor browser. This means that the visitor is redirected immediately when the page is called. If you set a delay in the Redirection macro, this is not taken into account with “Redirect for Confluence”.
