Getting Started with Redirect for Confluence

Redirect for Confluence (previously “Homepage Redirect for Confluence”) has two main use cases:

  1. Redirect different user groups to customized homepages to provide relevant and specific information for each user group.

  2. Set HTTP 301 redirections for single pages when migrating or restructuring Confluence.

In Confluence, you can define only one global homepage. Using the Redirect app, administrators can assign unique homepages to several individual user groups. As soon as users access Confluence, they are redirected to a homepage that was set up for their user group.

If you are migrating Confluence from Data Center or Server to Cloud, you want to make sure that users can reach the new site effortlessly. Placing a 301 redirect on the outdated page will lead users directly to the content on the new site.
