📎 Attachment Report

Viewtracker measures attachment views and displays this information in various places throughout your Confluence instance. You can promote relevant content & remove unused attachments.

Accessing the Attachment Report

Global Report: Access this report by tapping the “Attachments” entry in the Analytics Cockpit.

Space Report: Access this report by selecting the tab “Attachments” within the Analytics Cockpit of the space administration.

Attachment report entry within the Space Report

The report will give you the following data:

  • Graph: Visual representation of attachment views across the Confluence site.

  • File Name: Names and types of the most popular attachments.

  • Space: The space where each attachment is stored.

  • Views: Number of times each attachment has been viewed or downloaded.

  • File Size: Size of each attachment in bytes, MB, or GB.

  • Viewers: Number of users who have viewed or downloaded the attachment.

Settings and filters:

Use the search field to search for specific attachments. This includes file types like PDFs or PNGs. All other options are explained below ⤵️


Changing the date range

Data from the last 30 days is shown by default. To change this, click the date field and select a new range. All metrics will update automatically.

  • Group by metrics: You can group the graph metrics by days (default), weeks, months, or years.

  • Chart Display: Choose to display metrics in Line (default), Bar, or Area charts.

Below the graph, you'll find a drop-down menu with available metrics. Select the metrics you want to display, and the graph will update automatically.

  • "Views" are selected by default.

  • Viewtracker remembers your metric selection, so it will be displayed the next time you access the report.

Saving and sharing reports

Once you’ve applied a filter or changed the report's date range, the report’s URL will adapt with parameters like

This is useful for the following reasons:

  • You can copy and share the URL with co-workers with the same access permission.

  • You can save the URL to access a customized report quickly.

Export Attachment views

All metrics in the export correspond to the selected time filter and date range (default is the last 30 days).

To export the attachment report as a CSV file, follow these steps:

Go to Analytics Cockpit, select the "Attachments" entry, click Export, and choose either individual or aggregated views.

Individual views:

The exported CSV file will list each attachment view with details such as:

  • View ID, Attachment ID, Attachment Name, View Date, View UNIX Date, Username, Full Name, Content ID, Content Title, Content Type, Space Key, Space Name.

 

Aggregated views:

The exported CSV will summarize view events as shown in the Attachment Report, including:

  • Attachment Name, Space Name, Views, File Size (Bytes), Viewers
